Driving School in Phoenix, Arizona?

Driving School in Phoenix, Arizona?
I want to go to driving school (where they teach you to pass your written test and road test) so I can get my license. However, I'm older than the 16 year olds that will be in the classes, so does anyone know how a driving school near Phoenix, AZ that is somewhat more private or has more age appropriate members?

Yes! Driving MBA is a great private driving school and is one of only two recommended by AAA in the Phoenix area. State of the art simulators. Very small, intimate environment that can pair you with another similarly aged individual (generally only two at a time take the simulator classes together). Furthermore, you can take your driving test through them and then just head down to MVD with your proof of passing the test - no long lines at the MVD - just a quick photo and you walk out with your license. (Test is a lot more thorough than what the MVD offers, but in my estimation, that's a good thing.) It is on the pricey side but it offers a 5% discount for AAA members. My daughter (16) is going through the program right now. Instruction is top notch - two locations - Scottsdale and Chandler.

Hey i actually went to a driving school when i was 18 so i could get a discount on insurance, but anyway there was older people in the class too like 23+ too so it's not that big of a deal, I went with Stop and Go driving... SO first you go usually to a hotel and they have a class for the day and they go over everything and then you take the written test there and if you pass it you go to and DMV on your own and get your permit and then make an appointment with them for your first 3 hour session, and they teach you everything in the car and then you make another appointment for your second 3 hour session and they give you the paper saying you completed the course and go to the DMV again on your own and get your drivers license and you DON'T take the test and your done and you have your drivers license... TA-DA!

My boyfriend wants to go to Phoenix, Arizona for school and.........?

My boyfriend wants to go to Phoenix, Arizona for school and.........?
My boyfriend and I have been together for over five years. His family moved away to Wyoming leaving him here with me in Michigan. Ever since his dad died he's wanted to work on cars and get an automotive degree and he's recently been talking about moving to Arizona to do a year program there. He basically won't go without me even though I need to finish up a year of schooling here. We probably wouldn't be able to go for another year so I could finish and get a good job out there but I'm nervous. The fear of leaving my family is overtaking the chance I want to take with him. I told him I would want a MAJOR commitment towards our relationship before I moved ANY WHERE and he completely agreed and told me that it's definitely on his mind. The program takes a year or maybe a little over. I just don't want to live there forever because I'll miss my family and my home too much. It sucks in Michigan and we need to get out. Should I go with him or stay with my family? We'll eventually come back, but I'm still torn. I need to pray about this for sure! Any suggestions or life stories???

If you feel comfortable with him I would not worry about taking a step toward the unknown. That is the best time to do such a thing. That way you have perhaps one of the only things that matters in your life with you. It may suck being away from your family, but have you really ever been away from your family? I mean you may find that it isn't as bad as you think. I'd finish up your school before going anywhere. If your relationship is good when that happens and has gone in the direction you are looking for it to go, perhaps engagement, then go for it. Life may take you all over and often times that is not a bad thing. It can be a scary thing, but fears are to be faced not avoided. Plus, as you said "it sucks in Michigan" so why not move somewhere warmer for a while. The best of luck to you.

Can you tell me about the reputation and credibility of the acting school called ACT out of Phoenix, Arizona?

Can you tell me about the reputation and credibility of the acting school called ACT out of Phoenix, Arizona?
My son went on an audition with approximately 1000 people. They told us 5% would get selected for the acting school but that we would have to be prepared to pay immediately and the costs were in the thousands.

http://www.academyofcinemaandtv.com/index.html i think this is the place...not sure. the thing is, are you planning on sending your child to college? or do you want them to sell their soul to hollywood before puberty? this school is offering commercial training to very young children. not just training but more importantly exposure. this doesn't guarentee anything but that your child will ask for more money down the road for more training. i am not a supporter of children being introduced to this kind of commercialism. you are taking away their childhood and selling it to casting directors. being in the entertainment business means walking a very fine line, and one that is very expensive. i would suggest doing your own research into the school not depending on the second hand info you're asking from strangers online (unless of course you're merely querying after you, yourself, have gathered sufficient info). it sounds to me like a glorified casting agency yet they're not really offering to find jobs for your money. they are offering training and exposure to agents who then will ask for more money. i don't know. as a parent you have to make a decision....

This certainly sounds like a scam. How were you made aware of the audition? No reputable acting school demands full payment in advance.

I would suggest that you call your school's office and ask them if they know of any resources in your area. Also, you could call a few churches and see if they have any info. Thrift stores would be a source of some cheap clothes, and you can check Staples and Walgreen's ads, they have school supplies for pennies this week. Good luck, it seems that just about everyone in the valley right now can be qualified to be called a "needy family", hope you find the help you need.
