school standards in phoenix, arizona?
currently i live in el paso, texas, and i'm supposed to be moving to phoenix sometime during the middle of the school year. i'm in 8th grade and in all pre-ap courses including algebra. i'm just not sure because for here if we take algebra, we get high school credits. so if i move during the middle of the school year, will i still be in the class? and will the things they're teaching be at a higher level cause i know when i moved here from alaska, they were barely teaching stuff from when i was in third and fourth grade.

Do you know which school you will be attending? Will you go to public or private? Call the guidance department of the school that you will be moving to. They will be able to answer your questions very well. I can give you some answers, but they are more guesses.

Is it Possible to go to School in Austin or Phoenix without a Car?
Is it Possible to go to School in Austin or Phoenix without a Car? I'm not going to be able to take my car with me when I transfer out of state from Richmond,Virginia. I am looking at schools out of state and would like to work, live and go to school in either downtown Phoenix, Arizona or Austin, Texas. Is it possible to live without a car in either cities and still have a fun life. A lot of college students here in Richmond don't have cars so they have to make friends with people with cars, and/or only work, play and live downtown. Also in Richmond there are lots of jobs, and leisure activities downtown and we are a city of only over 200,000. So, aren't I right in assuming downtown Austin and Phoenix will have even more opportunities for young non-drivers? * I will be living on campus only for a while as well. Phoenix - 2 Answers Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions : 1 there is a public transportation service in the Phoenix area, plus, it's likely you will meet people that also go to your school, maybe an opportunity to car pool 2 Phoenix has a GREAT public transit system. I went to college there with no car and it was a breeze. There is a bus for every major street and lots of minor ones too. There are plenty of express routes as well and now they also have a light rail. You can get a monthly bus pass for cheap and they're pretty darn reliable time-wise. Because of all the colleges in the area, there are also a lot of starter jobs for college students. You also need to keep in mind that the transit system stretches to Tempe as well so it's not like it keeps you stuck within Metro Phoenix. Scottsdale, Tempe, Chandler, Peoria, etc are all easily reachable via public transport. Public transport is never a 100% clean or creepy people free experience, but compared to a lot of cities, Phoenix has a great system going. I used it the entire time I was going to college there and never had a problem. Sometimes I'd even bike part way and throw my bike on the front of the bus for part of the ride. Because it's so hot in the summer, they really have to have a good public transit system or no one would get anywhere =) You can't walk or bike when it's 120. For the first summer you'll be telling people "DRY HEAT MY @$$!!!!" but you will get used to it. The first time you fly home to Richmond during the summer, you'll see what I mean. I was always poo-pooing "dry heat" until I stepped off a plane in Chicago when it was 89 (100% humidity) and I couldn't breathe. You don't sweat when it's 120 in Phoenix either. Well, you do, but because of the low humidity it just evaporates. You're hot, but you're not uncomfortable. |

I was in a beauty pageant in september and the girl that won last year also won a scholarship to a paul mitchell school and all she ever talks about is how awesome it is. I don't think there is any better ones. she says that the school she's going to is the best out there. Her name is Haley Boyer. you can find her on facebook if you wanted to ask her some questions.

Any suggestions on where to go for school to learn html, css, web design in Phoenix, Arizona?
And that would be the cheapest possibly? I know this stuff you can learn..doesnt really matter where the degree comes from as long as you know it.

Check your local community colleges, sometimes they offer web design degrees. They would certainly be more reasonably priced. I looked online, but the results are populated with junk schools, that profess to be colleges and want 16,000 bucks for an associates degree, just ridiculous. peace, mavin

I attended DeVry University in Phoenix, and got my BS in CIS. I have had great luck getting jobs since I graduated, and am very happy with the education I received. If there is any downside, it is that DeVry is relatively expensive. If you are looking for something more affordable, you might try University of Phoenix, or Phoenix College. It does matter in some sense where you get your degree from too; several companies I have interviewed with were impressed by the fact that I graduated from DeVry, and the interviewers often said something like "wow, you went to DeVry. that's a tough school." So, going to a good school can help in the interview process. If you just got to some fly-by-night place, the interviewer is going to know it. It is their job to know those things. I would suggest checking into the 2 schools I mentioned, as well as others in the area. One word of advice : make sure that wherever you go, the credits are transferrable. At DeVry, all credits are transferrable to other universities, like ASU, U of A, etc. Some schools, like ITT Tech offer classes with NON-transferrable credits, and their degrees are not looked upon as highly. Good luc
